Principal's Message

Starke Elementary has been serving families in Deland since 1956. We are a small community-based school where our students live in the two mile walk zone.

We promise that our school is 100% committed to ensuring that we provide a positive culture and climate for everyone on our campus. We promise to listen, to advocate, and to support each person on our campus. We want to work together with all stakeholders to create a warm and welcoming environment for our students. Our mission is to “provide a safe and positive culture to ensure ALL students are learning at high levels, so they are college and career ready.”  I welcome each and every member of our school family and community to become involved at Starke by volunteering, joining our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and School Advisory Council (SAC). Through our collective efforts we will ensure that we are growing leaders in every size.
